3D Printing Technology
3-D Printing Technology - Dawn of a Revolution
3-D printing a long ago moved from being theoretical to a reality, and in recent years 3D printers have become cheaper to produce. Experts predict 3D printers common in home in coming years.
Science and Technology behind 3D printing:
3D Printing is proving to be one of the most game-changing technologies of recent times, giving consumers the ability to produce real-life, 3D objects in their own homes. With developers and the general public introducing more and more applications of the technology, interest is certainly picking up.
3D printing is a form of additive manufacturing, which should give a major hint to how the process works. In a nutshell, the objects 3D printers produce are created by adding many different layers until the intended object is formed.
It all starts, of course, with a digital concept. Computer aided design (CAD) software is used to create a virtual replication of the object on the computer, and this design is then sent to the printer to be produced in real life.
Whatever material is used to create the 3D item, the software first breaks the object down into thousands of incredibly thin 2D layers. Following the design generated on the computer, these layers are then successively added on top of each other until the final object is completed.
As such, if you look closely at most 3D printed items, you may be able to spot the minuscule layers that have been accumulated to create it.
While most objects created by 3D printing so far have relied on simple materials such as plastics and rubber, the increasing scope of applications could see the technology expand in future. For example, some people are already ‘printing’ chocolate and other sweets by using sugar as the printer material.
It will certainly be interesting to see how 3D printing develops in the future and what other items can be created.
"3D Printing has the potential to revolutionize
the way we make almost everything."
- Barack Obama, US President
Market Value:
You can clearly see the increasing market value of 3D printing industry and its scope.
Wouldn't it be interesting in the coming years we could print whatever we want and use it!

The Changing Jewelry Trends
Indian Jewellery industry has
undergone a strong revolution ever since its coming into vogue to the present
era. Traditional heavy jewellery market has been taken over by the modern,
sleek, light weight, daily wear jewellery. This transformation can be credited to
the growth of organized jewellery manufacturers in India. The article discusses
the current trends in jewellery industry.
Jewellery that used to be an
investment some years back is today, a daily wear commodity. Earlier, people
used to buy jewellery only on special occasions like wedding, birthdays,
engagements or during festival seasons. However, today, with the coming up of
organized jewellery players, people buy jewellery at any time of the year.
Moreover, the modern day working women prefer to wear jewellery that is light
in weight and is comfortable to wear, and which can be worn in her normal
office schedule. Instead of buying jewellery from traditional jewellers, people
now prefer to buy jewellery from organized players. Besides gold and diamond, the
imitation jewellery market has also picked up during the past few years.
Time is changing and so the trends.
Technology is advancing. CAD Designing is ruling over handmade designing.
Designs are getting flexible. Gems and Jewelry Industry is heading towards
great evolution.

Jewelry CAD Designing Softwares
Jewelry CAD Designs are in vogue. Handmade jewelry is switching
over to CAD Jewelry. Designing in CAD is very amendable by the help of
softwares. New softwares are developing day by day. Number of softwares has
helped the designers building their jewelry efficiently. The new tools and
functions evolving have made it easier to create new patterns and jewelry.
Talking about the softwares, today I am going to introduce you to all the
designing softwares in the market for jewelry.
Starting with the primary software Jewel CAD, which rectified the way we designed the jewelry in
computers, used widely in Asia has turned outdated. They have tried to update
the software and provide us with JEWEL
CAD PRO; still many better softwares are available withering its use.
Next comes the ultimate solution to jewelry designing,
Rhino. The plug-ins they are developing
is also fantastic. Starting with Rhinoceros
4; the favorable software I would recommend. Its update Rhinoceros 5 is great too. If you
become operative to Rhino, RhinoGold
is the best thing one can use. Its functions and commands have made it possible
for designers to design jewelry more swiftly. All I can say about Rhino and its
plug-ins is just ‘EXCELLENT.”
MATRIX is also one of the good designing softwares having
inbuilt realistic proportions. Bt it is not so easy to work on Matrix fluently.
If you have Rhino background you can easily hang on it. T-Splines, ZBrush,
3Ddesign are some of the softwares also available but less used. Each has some
special properties.
But to conclude I would just recommend Rhino and its
plug-ins. See you soon with my next blog with something new. Keep supporting.
And share your views regarding CAD softwares too.

That's me with the present honorable Prime Minister of India and the past Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Narendra Modi 5 years ago on 21st May, 2010 applauding me for the achievement of being the youngest Jewelry CAD Designer at a very green age. This could have not been possible without support and assistance of my father.
"It is the time you move ahead of your career by using 21st Century Technology with Gems & Jewelry Industry.", words by H'ble Narendra Modi clearly prompting to use CAD technology in Jewelry Industry.
Time has changed. Computer Aided Designing is in vogue and has replaced the hand made designs because of its convenience, providing people with more precision and less time consumption. New CAD software are developing daily making Jewelry Designing more easier and better. I will be coming back soon with my next blog regarding different CAD Designing Software.
Thank You.
